OEG Marine Services has placed an order with Isle of Wight shipbuilder Diverse Marine for three crew transfer vessels as it expands and renews its offshore wind fleet. Splash 247 reported that the UK offshore services company will take delivery of the vessels during 2027, with construction to be carried out at the yard’s Cowes facility.

The newbuilds will use Chartwell Marine’s Brevity SL class design. Each will have an overall length of 26 metres and a load line length below 24 metres. The three vessels will be built to a common specification, registered under the UK flag and classed by Bureau Veritas, according to the report.

Splash 247 said the first vessel will be equipped with quad Volvo Penta IPS propulsion meeting IMO Tier III emissions requirements. Its specification also includes Hull Vane transom foils, which are intended to improve fuel efficiency when the vessel is travelling at cruising speeds. The report states that all three vessels will share the same specification.

The vessels are expected to be assigned to construction support at an offshore wind development off the UK’s east coast in 2027. There, they would work alongside Fulmar and Furioso, two vessels already in OEG’s fleet that were also designed by Chartwell. The source did not identify the project they are expected to serve.

The contract is OEG’s second collaboration with Diverse Marine, following the yard’s delivery of Fulmar in 2025. Since entering the fleet, Fulmar has been used to support construction at the Inch Cape offshore wind farm in Scotland.

OEG director Leif Cooper linked the repeat order to the performance of the Chartwell design. According to Splash 247, he said it had exceeded the company’s expectations, leading OEG to return to Diverse Marine for the additional vessels.
