Alkagesta took part in the second annual Central Asia Oil & Gas Forum in Tashkent on 15-16 October, with CIS Regional Trader Javid Guliyev representing the company. According to Alkagesta Newsroom, the event brought together energy executives, policymakers and investors for discussions on changes affecting the region’s energy markets, including logistics, regulation and energy security.
The company’s account identified regional energy cooperation and supply-chain optimisation as central themes of the 2026 programme. Sessions addressed oil and gas reserves, production strategies and the infrastructure supporting cross-border trade. Refining capacity and access to markets also formed part of the agenda, alongside investment, risk management and the development of public-private partnerships across Central Asia.
For oil and gas trade, the programme’s coverage extended from resource development and production to the routes and facilities used to move supplies across borders. The inclusion of refining and market access placed downstream activity alongside those upstream and logistical questions. Alkagesta Newsroom presented the forum as an opportunity to discuss both the commercial prospects and the challenges associated with the region’s changing energy landscape.
Alkagesta linked its attendance to Central Asia’s importance within its wider regional business. The company said it maintains an active presence in CIS markets and operates a petroleum-products trading platform reaching approximately 48 countries. That figure describes the reach of its broader trading platform, rather than the scope of its Central Asian operations. The account did not provide a separate country breakdown for its regional business.
The newsroom report characterised Central Asia as a region affected by changing trade corridors and an increasing role in international supply chains. It focused on the forum’s agenda and Alkagesta’s participation, without announcing a new supply agreement, investment commitment or logistics project resulting from the event.
