Alkagesta’s finance team took part in TFG Geneva 2026, a commodity trade finance conference whose agenda included funding for physical cargoes, inventory positions and sustainable fuels, according to Alkagesta Newsroom. The company described its attendance as an opportunity to engage with banks, insurers and other liquidity providers supporting its international trading activities.

Organised by Trade Finance Global at the InterContinental Genève during Geneva Commodities Week, the event attracted more than 500 professionals, the company’s account said. Participants came from trading houses, trade and commodity finance banks, credit and political risk insurers, and compliance, legal and logistics businesses. The programme comprised nine panel discussions featuring more than 40 speakers, covering both established financing structures and potential new sources of capital for commodity trade.

Opening discussions examined the outlook for commodity trading against a backdrop of volatile markets and persistent supply chain disruption. The agenda considered practical responses to changes in trade flows and lessons from the preceding year. Separate sessions addressed additional liquidity for commodity trade finance and inventory funding, looking at how banks and alternative lenders support physical shipments and commodities held in storage.

Energy transition financing also featured in the programme. A panel on commodity trade finance banks examined adjustments in funding for sustainable fuels and lower-carbon supply chains. Later discussions covered insurance in the context of conflict, factors shaping the critical minerals agenda, and the potential role of digital asset lending as an investment avenue for the trade finance market.

Alkagesta Newsroom said the company trades petroleum products, biofuels, fertilisers and steel across approximately 48 countries. It presented the Geneva appearance as a continuation of its engagement with financing partners following a Banking Partners Summit hosted in Malta in October. The company linked those relationships to what it described as record growth through 2026, although the report supplied no financial figures or details of new financing agreements.
