Alkagesta took part in African Energy Week 2026 in Cape Town, with Rustam Mirzoev representing the company throughout the five-day programme, according to Alkagesta Newsroom. The company presented its attendance as an opportunity to engage with policymakers, investors and industry executives involved in African energy markets and to strengthen relationships supporting its operations on the continent.

The newsroom account said the conference brought together public- and private-sector participants from across the energy industry. Its scope extended from upstream production through midstream and downstream activities to renewable energy and energy services. Discussions considered Africa’s place in global energy markets against a backdrop of geopolitical change, alongside the investment requirements of the continent’s energy sector.

A further focus was how to move proposed projects towards delivery across power generation, hydrocarbons and renewables. According to the company’s account, the programme addressed energy security and Africa’s potential to become a strategic centre for growth in hydrocarbons. Renewable energy financing also featured, putting funding for those developments alongside discussion of investment in oil and gas resources.

Other sessions examined the renewal of onshore and brownfield assets, as well as opportunities to develop frontier basins. Country-focused investment discussions covered Nigeria, Senegal, Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea. Alkagesta Newsroom described those sessions as providing insight into regional opportunities relevant to Africa’s next cycle of exploration and production, rather than announcing specific investments or project commitments by the company.

Alkagesta said its existing African business includes supplying petroleum products and fertiliser across West and East Africa. It linked conference participation to deepening the relationships behind what it described as its growing African operations. The account did not identify any new supply agreements, transactions or investment decisions arising from the event, focusing instead on the programme’s themes and the company’s engagement with other participants.
