Alkavex, the steel trading business of Alkagesta, took part in three parallel metals industry exhibitions in Shanghai, according to Alkagesta Newsroom. The company attended Metallurgy China 2026, Wire China 2026 and Tube China 2026 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. All three formed part of the second China International Steel Week, bringing together participants from the Chinese and international steel and metals sectors.

Deputy chief executive Nijat Osmanlı represented Alkavex during the four-day programme. The company’s account said he held discussions with steel producers, equipment makers, traders, logistics providers and other industry participants. It described attendance as an opportunity to establish direct contact with producers and technology suppliers while following developments across the steel supply chain. The report did not disclose any contracts or commercial agreements arising from those meetings.

Metallurgy China, staging its 24th edition, hosted more than 1,000 enterprises within an exhibition area of 20,000 square metres, Alkagesta Newsroom reported. Its programme centred on higher-end steel production, intelligent manufacturing and greener industrial development. Exhibits covered technologies, production processes, equipment and business models, with the event also intended to encourage collaboration and support the steel industry’s international development.

Wire China and Tube China, each in their 12th edition, covered the wire, cable, tube and pipe industries. The source named Shanghai Electric Cable Research Institute, Messe Düsseldorf Shanghai and MC-CCPIT as organisers of the concurrent exhibitions. It reported attendance of more than 50,000 professional buyers from around the world across the two events, alongside domestic and international brands operating in those markets.

The wire and tube exhibitions focused on low-carbon production, digitalisation, intelligent technologies and the use of lightweight materials in global markets. For Alkavex, the three-event programme offered a broad view of changes in steel manufacturing and related industries, as well as access to potential industry counterparts, according to the company’s account.
